ISTANBUL - the city that never sleeps

It was my first trip to Istanbul and when i look back i think of long nights, a lot of colors & patterns and good & delicious food. It was a trip about 4 days. We stayed in the district Sultanahmet which is a great location to get to the most famous and ancient places. Even with the taxi it´s just about 15 TL (6 Euro) to get to Taxim on the other side of the city.

The first day we started off with the Topkapi Palast, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Cisterna Basilica. I mostly was impressed by the beauty and variety of the mosaics. The most beautiful ones have been inside of the Harem of the Topkapi Palast.

Vacation house in Cadiz, Spain by Enrique Johansson and Carmen Brujo

Comfortable, spacious and modern.
The owners of the house wanted to have a place to relaxe, to rest and to be able to invite a lot of friends. This was the main ambition and goal of the architect Enrique Johansson and the interior designer Carmen Brujó. Brujó used turkish limestone floors to provide a sense consistency. She also used a lot of blue and fresh colours to support the lightness thats given by the huge windows.
She knew how to kombine fimily antique furniture, contemporary design and the impressions of colours to create a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

Sangiorgio Hotel - Mykonos

True – Authentic – Simple - The perfect description for this charming hotel! 
In addition an original description of the hotel itself: 

"The idea of the San Giorgio Hotel is to bring like-minded people together in a laid-back atmosphere. The San Giorgio Hotel is designed to make true interaction possible and yet giving those who are looking for privacy and relaxation from the daily routine the time to relax and recreate in a design oriented atmosphere."

Industrial-style loft in Dumbo

Ms. Maxwell Foster, an owner of an interior design firm, and her husband bought this 1,200-square-foot apartment  for $885,000 and renovated it with help from Suysel dePedro Cunningham for $100,000 within 2,5 month.
The renovation included the countertops, most of the bath fixtures and fittings. They also replaced the coat closet near the front door for a foyer and transformed the former home office into a bedroom. The former bedroom is now part of the living room, which can be turned into a guest room.

Beach House in California by Rockefeller Partners Architects

A beautiful Beach House in California, southwestern part of Los Angeles, Manhatten Beach designed by Rockefeller Partners Architects. The interior arrangement is reflecting the architectural style, and we can´t deny to notice the inspiration by South East Asian design! The architects used teak on the floors and for the staircase, mahogany that was used for the doors and windows too. Tthe ceiling is covered in cedar slats. A great combination...not forgetting the amazing view of the Pacific and Malibu coastline!

Victorian terrace in east London

A four storey Victorian terrace, located in east London. The whole house is bathed in light, uncluttered and designed in white. Facing all the datails it is totaly charming!

Lake Residence by CASTANES ARCHITECTS PS AIA

A project by CASTANES ARCHITECTS PS AIA 

Truly a dream home, Lakeside Residence rests at the West shore of Lake Washington, enjoying views of the lake and growing skyline of Bellevue.
While the new residence takes a “bow” to its predecessor with a design that evolves around both traditional and contemporary ideas, it also refocuses its attention to the lake and the beautifully landscaped gardens, with bi-folding doors, large windows, comfortable decks and a “crows nest” office at 4th floor level.

Garden stools

 Hello Sunshine ☼

I was looking for these garden stools for a long time! I saw them in so many pictures and on different webpages like www.westwing.de but they are so expensive! I did some research and if found prices from 380 Euro to 120 Euro. That´s crazy!! I found the most variety of them at Overstock. You can get them in every colour with different designs. I just love them ♥

                                 

Spring Inspired

If i look out of the window it is snowing!! Last week the sun was shining all day, all week..what´s going on?! Spring is just wonderful. Fresh Air, fresh colors like turquoise, rose, yellow, light green.

Table *Rochester*

I just love this table! It is a nice combination of recycled wood and modern elements like glass and steel. As i am from Germany i often link to webpages based in Germany but i will try to come up with international or american pages too. My personal style is more inspired by the so called "shabby chic* and the industrial style but i also love the classic interior. If i do earn enough money to buy a house, i guess i will have a mixture of all of them....We will see. Cant wait for it!
